Hawk Performance #HB248Z.650 Performance Ceramic Brake Pads

Hawk Performance has introduced a premium, high performance, ultra-low dust, low-noise compound called Performance Ceramic. Performance Ceramic is engineered to reduce brake NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness), creating a quieter performing brake pad perfect for the sport-touring market. Furthermore, the ceramic brake pad formula has a linear friction profile across the temperature range for smooth, predictable, reliable performance. With Hawk's Performance Ceramic compound pads, you can expect reduced pad/rotor wear, lower dust output levels and quiet performance without sacrificing performance.

Features:
  • Excellent stopping power with linear CoF (FF)
  • Very rotor-friendly
  • Extended pad & rotor life
  • Ultra-low dust
  • Ultra-quiet operation w/ OE grade noise dampening system
  • FMSI D731
Applications:
  • 1997-2004 C5(Z06) Corvette
  • 2004-2009 Cadillac XLR
  • 2005-2013 C6 Corvette
  • 2005-2013 C6 Z51 Corvette
Brake Pad Installation Procedure:
  • Install brake pads with proper hardware, shims, etc.
  • Locate the pads with wear indicators on the piston side of the calipers in a floating-caliper application.
  • Flush and bleed the system with fresh brake fluid.
  • Check all hydraulic parts for excess wear and tear and replace/repair as needed.
  • Check disc for proper thickness, parllelism and lateral run out.
  • Check disc for circumferential scoring or grooving over .012" depth across the friction surface and replace or resurface as required.
  • If disc does not require replacement or resurfacing, then the contamination from the previous pads must be removed if you're changing compounds. Sand discs with 130-160 grit sandpaper using moderate pressure. Clean disc with soap and water to remove residue from sanding as well as any oil, grease or brake fluid.
  • Inspect calipers for freedom of movement and repair or lubricate where needed
Burnishing/Bedding Instructions:
  1. After installing new brake pads per the Hawk installation instructions, make 6-10 stops from approximately 30-35 MPH applying moderate pressure.
  2. Make an additional 2-3 hard stops from approximately 40-45 MPH.
  3. Do not drag the brakes at any time or come to a full stop with your foot on the brake pedal between stops above.
  4. Allow at least 15 minutes for the brakes to cool down.
  5. Your new Hawk pads should be bedded-in and ready for use.
